——Bridging Music and Spiritual Practice

Hualian began her zen meditation practice in 1991 under the 85th Zen Grandmaster Wu Chueh Miao Tien Shifu, receiving the spiritual name Jue Miao Hualian in 2012. As leader of the Philadelphia Zen Meditation Center, she continues this profound spiritual lineage, dedicated to guiding individuals toward inner clarity and wisdom. A renowned concert pianist and distinguished alumna of the Juilliard School, Cleveland Institute of Music, and University of Music and Drama Hannover, she brings decades of artistic and spiritual expertise to her mission.

Through the Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy and teaching at Temple University and Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Hualian guides individuals toward self-discovery through Zen meditation practice. She demonstrates how contemplative practice rooted in this spiritual tradition cultivates focus, discipline, and emotional clarity essential to spiritual awakening.

Central to her mission is the belief that true nature and inner peace are accessible through everyday life. Through her role as spiritual mentor and disciple of this profound lineage, Hualian demonstrates that Zen meditation is a transformative path toward self-discovery and fulfillment.
